      Katrina G. Boyd, Ph.D.

      Katrina G. Boyd earned a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Film Studies, IU Bloomington and is now an Assistant Professor at the U of Oklahoma (Norman). Her essays have appeared in the anthologies Enterprise Zones: Critical Positions on Star Trek (Westview Press, 1996) and Sooner Cinema: Oklahoma Goes to the Movies (46 Star Press, 2009). Her work on Richard Linklater’s 2011 film Bernie, originally presented at SCMS in 2014, is forthcoming in Film Quarterly. She regularly teaches lower-division survey courses--Introduction to Film and Media Studies (300 students), Film History to 1960 (65 students)--and 35-student, upper-division courses, including the Hollywood Musical, Science Fiction Film and Cultural Modernity, and Cinema of Social Issues, Protest and Satire.
