Improved Outcomes Start with Great Moments in the Classroom

Educause 2015 is now history. More than 4000 IT and education technology professionals convened in Indianapolis to attend higher education’s premier technology event. The event gave us an opportunity to demonstrate how our active learning platform transforms the classroom and education.

Student engagement + award-winning lecture capture + real-time learner analytics = improved learning outcomes

Visitors to our booth saw the latest release of the Echo360 active learning and analytics platform. They were able to see our award-winning lecture capture system and why students at Western University selected Echo360 as the number one application.

Our solution closes a critical gap in the technology infrastructure on campus by capturing behavioral and formative student data – data that no other system is capturing. Instructors can use this data to identify at-risk students at the moment of confusion and proactively intervene to improve outcomes.

Lecture halls and classrooms get more advanced with Echo360

We also unveiled two new classroom lecture capture appliances:

      • The Echo360 POD – a lecture capture device that can work without a podium PC. It can easily be mounted on a podium or wall and all it needs is a Wi-Fi connection. Instructors can just plug in their laptop and start the class
      • The Echo360 PRO – designed to support state-of-the-art lecture halls with multiple presentation technologies (projector + PC +HD camera(s). This device also supports long cable runs (up to 100 meters) without the need for extenders or converters.

Echo360 Senior Product Manager, Sandeep Mittal highlights some of the key features of the Echo360 Pro in this video.

A new era of sophistication for data analytics in higher education

Educause 2015 gave us the opportunity to announce two important partnerships. Echo360 and the University of Kentucky announced a partnership that uses real-time data collected from the active learning platform to create a new predictive analytics model.  This new tool gives faculty and advisers the actionable learning analytics that are critical to student retention and success.

And finally, Echo360 and Civitas Learning announced a partnership to help colleges and universities bridge a critical data gap on-campus. Through this partnership, institutions will be able to integrate real-time classroom insights surfaced by Echo360 into Civitas Learning’s analytics ecosystem. This will give instructors, administrators and other stakeholders a more complete understanding of student engagement and indicators of success.  Civitas Learning co-founder and Chief Learning Officer took to Twitter with his take on the announcement!
