Happy May everyone!

As we all know, this month brings a flurry of activity on campus from final exams to graduation. We’re on the 7-week countdown until my twins graduate from high school and I’m not sure whether to laugh or cry (I’m sure there will be plenty of both on June 17).

There was also such a flurry of great ed tech and higher ed stories this week, I couldn’t narrow just one theme for this week’s blog. Scanning my favorite resources this week, the topics ranged from developing a cohesive technology strategy to BYOD in the classroom – literally everything but the kitchen sink.

Thus the title for this May 1 edition of Leslie’s List. Without further adieu, here were some of the most notable finds across the edusphere:

  • How do you go beyond lecture capture to more active learning? Listen to this Inside Higher Ed podcast with our very own Greg Golkin!
  • Mobile devices in the classroom are here to stay. Learn 5 tips for teaching with mobile tech here.
  • Even self-directed learners need instructor guidance and direction.
  • Jisc offers valuable insights into how to bring all stakeholders together to implement a successful technology strategy.
  • Flip without flopping. 5 keys to flipped classroom success.
  • Learning can be anxiety inducing for many students. How you can empower fearless learning.

Now that May is upon us, we’re less than 2 weeks away from the first stop on our 2015 Active Learning World Tour - the beautiful city of Chicago! We hope that you’ll make plans to join us on May 13-14 at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
